Todd Cordell: Could Artem Anisimov Become Expandable? - Todd-Cordell
Rewind two years ago and this team had no depth whatsoever at center , now here we are with Dano, Wennberg and perhaps Jenner waiting to get a chance.
This is how I might see the team on opening night if Arty gets traded;
Rychel-Johanson-Horton
Hartnell-Dubinsky-Atkinson
Foligno-Jenner-Letestu
Calvert-Gibson-Boll (or DAmigo) |

What kind of return would the jackets realistically be looking for? |

I was scared of that. It fills one hole while creating another. I think player for player is quite fair, but I don't think the Oilers would add to Petry, nor do I think they move him unless his one year deal was because he wants out or there is no place long term for him.
Ansimov for Nikitin? |

Perron for Anisimov+Calvert/2nd/3rd |
|
|

Now watch as oiler fans line up for Anisimov. In all seriousness I would love to him him too. Don't see trading anyone in our lineup right now. Any trade would leave us with another hole to fill. Next years draft will be deep so I would hate to trade our 1st round... arcobello and a second? |

Perron for Anisimov+Calvert/2nd/3rd - TheNugeIsHuge
Take out the 2nd round draft pick and you have a deal.....in my opinion.
Jarmo usually hits his 2nd round picks. |

I just meant one of Calvert, a 2nd, or a 3rd(preferably Calvert). Depending on what'd be fair. Perron's coming off a big year, but EDM needs a centre badly |

I see...
Edmonton seems like a good trading partner than. Get Kevin & Jarmo on the phone.
Eklund, you can make this a rumor tomorrow. |

Sharp for Anisimov+ - FourFeathers773
What else would you want for Sharp?
$5.9 cap hit vs $3.2 cap hit. This could have some legs... |

Arty, maybe Gouloubef and a second for Sharp, let's not forget they cbj are taking on alot of salary in this trade. |

See, this is what I imagined Jarmo would do all along.
Jarmo would not dip his toes too far into free agency (which he hasn't much over the past 2 summers) and take advantages of teams with salary cap issues AND accumulate talent. Than trade some of that talent off to teams desperate for a certain position for more assets.
Sharp and Anisimov fit that profile. Which is why I could see trades happening with Chicago and Edmonton. |
